I have been asked to identify a young but already published nephrologist to direct the clinical (and possibly) basic research program at a well endowed and excellent suburban community hospital in the Northeast which has dedicated substantial resources to becoming a center of excellence for both clinical and basic research. This position will be responsible for their nephrology research (the hospital has three fellows, one year with two and the other with one) and integrate clinical (trials mostly) and bench studies. Looks like a good opportunity for someone who has the fire in his/her belly to do research but doesn't want to be part of the funding rat race we are in.
Any suggestions.
